I would 100% recommend Net School!

Now nearing the end of his time with Net School, Year 11 student Isaac reflects on the last six years and reveals that he would 100% recommend Net School to other families thinking of moving to online education…
Hi, I’m Isaac, a Net School Year 11 student.
I’m currently doing my iGCSEs with Net School (year 11), and my favourite subject is Computer Science.
Joining Net School in 2019, I’ve been here 6 years; the longest I’ve been at any school…
Sadly, this year is my last year studying with Net School, as in the summer I’ll be moving onto Sixth Form to study Computer Science, Information Technology, and Business after doing everything from year 5 to year 11 with Net School.
Ever since I first joined Net School, I have had an amazing experience. Every teacher I have had has been very supportive and are always willing to explain things further.
Each year, there are a variety of extra-curricular activities, such as the amazing Net School Newspaper, a student led group who put together termly publications. In my time here, there has always been an amazing selection, including a coding club, and regular well-being drop-in sessions.
Perhaps the part of Net School I’ll miss the most is the support I receive from teachers. Every teacher is always willing to explain things further if I need. I also like how in every lesson I can interact with both the microphone and text chat, and I enjoy how interactive the lessons are.
Another great thing with Net School is if I get stuck completing homework, I can message my teachers, and they all reply with helpful feedback and suggestions. I really must give a shoutout to Mrs. Wilson my maths teacher, who seems to reply in around 5 minutes whatever time I email her (which is quite a lot…)
The Net School Admin Team have also been amazing and are always there to support with any technical query, or enquiry I may have.
Net School’s Schoology and Class for Web (online classroom) systems are easy to navigate, and it is easy to join lessons, find resources, or hand in homework. It is also really easy to see the teacher’s grades on homework, and latest announcements in a class or group. Another thing I find useful is the small class sizes, with most having under 10 students, so you can get to know the teacher better, and they can know you better. Mrs. Sward and Mrs. Barrett, my computer science teacher and geography teacher, have taught me since year 7, so I’ve been able to really get to know both of them, and they have got to know how to support best me too.
Outside of Net School, I really enjoy coding and electronics, especially on a Raspberry Pi programming computer, which lets you add all kinds of sensors, lights and about anything else you can think of to program. I also enjoy photography (you may have read my photography articles in the Net School Newspaper), especially of flowers and landscapes. I also have this cool 3D pen, which you can load plastic in, and it melts it, so it becomes mouldable into any shape! (picture below). I also enjoy model railways.
If you’re considering Net School, I would 100% recommend it, and you certainly won’t be disappointed, so get in touch today.
I’ll be sad to leave Net School in summer, but I can’t thank all the teachers I’ve had enough for all they have done.
